Catherine Smith is Pacific Eye Associates' Executive Director, having joined PEA in 1999. She received her BS Degree from the University of Wisconsin in Medical Technology in 1970 and worked in hospital laboratory and administration.
In 1983 she earned her MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. She has had several privately owned businesses, including Practice Management consulting and a medical billing service.
She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, a fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Exeutives, a founding member of the American Society of Ophthalmology Administrators, and a Certified Ophthalmic Executive.
Her responsibilities include personnel, operations, and fiscal management of the practice. Her areas of expertise include computer automation and evaluation of practice operations.
Cathy, a commercial and private pilot (now grounded by choice), does stained glass and other crafts. She also enjoys reading, golf, sports, travel, and seeing California with her daughter Britney. They live in Petaluma.
